Born in 1984 in Lyon (France), Damien Ligot studied Chinese language, literature and civilization at Jean Moulin LYON 3 University. In 2012, he defended a doctoral thesis in Asian Studies, entitled "Taike Transmusicality: Distinction of a new Taiwanity within a local underground (1990-2010)". In addition to his work as a translator, he is also a Chinese teacher and contributes to several projects aimed at promoting Taiwanese culture.
