Monika Li

Monika Li studied German studies, philosophy and sinology at Heidelberg University and National Taiwan University.

She translated Lung Ying-Tai's Dawu Mountain and several children’s books by Chang Yu-Jan into German. Currently she is working on a translation of Ping Lu’s crime novel The River Darkens.

She participated in the translation workshop of the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin 2022 and received grants by the constituent state of Berlin 2021, Deutscher Übersetzerfonds 2022 and the Frankfurt Book Fair 2022.

She is a member of the Verband deutschsprachiger Übersetzer/innen, an association aiming to promote literary translation.
