With a PhD in Linguistics, specializing in modern Chinese literature, Katarzyna Sarek is Assistant Professor at Jagiellonian University in Kraków. She translates contemporary Chinese and Taiwanese fiction and Chinese poetry. She is currently working on a Polish translation of Can Xue’s Yellow Mud Street,  the first Polish anthology of poems by Ai Qing and an anthology of contemporary Taiwanese short stories.
